Why Are We Following This? (And What If We Chose Something Better)

There’s a strange reality we’re all living in right now.

Someone can point a camera at their face, put on makeup, show an outfit of the day, or film themselves eating a dozen donuts for breakfast—captioned something like “this is what I eat as a fatty”—and reach millions of people. Not just reach them… influence them. Build a brand. Make millions of dollars.

And honestly? It’s hard not to feel frustrated watching it unfold.

Because on the other side, there are people quietly doing the real work.

People who have fought—hard—to reclaim their health. People who have reversed chronic illness, navigated autoimmune disease, rebuilt their bodies from the inside out. People who have studied, trained, and committed themselves to understanding how the human body actually works… and what it truly needs to thrive.

People who believe deeply that food matters.

That what we put in our bodies is not neutral.

It either builds us… or it breaks us down.

The Disconnect

I’ll be honest—it can feel maddening.

To pour your heart into something meaningful.

To grow real food.

To teach people how to nourish themselves.

To build something rooted in integrity, healing, and truth…

Regenerative farming.

Local food systems.

Seasonal eating.

It all sounds beautiful—romantic, even.

But for many people, it hasn’t become essential yet.

What Real Food Actually Means

The truth is, most people have become so disconnected from their food that they don’t even realize what they’re missing.

…and then struggle to get attention in a world that rewards noise over substance.

Because let’s face it:

“Eat whole, nutrient-dense food grown from the earth” doesn’t go viral the same way a sugar binge or a controversial food trend does.

When someone tells me they can’t believe how long our produce lasts, I always smile a little.

Because of course it does.

It was harvested that day. Sometimes within hours of you getting it. It didn’t travel across countries. It didn’t sit in storage for weeks. It didn’t slowly lose its life force under fluorescent lights in a cooler.

It’s still alive when it gets to you.

That’s what food is supposed to be.

This Isn’t About Judgment

This isn’t about shaming people for what they eat.

This isn’t about perfection.

And it’s definitely not about telling anyone they need to look a certain way.

It’s about something much deeper than that.

It’s about asking:

What kind of life do you actually want to live?

Do you want energy?

Clarity?

Strength?

Resilience?

Do you want a body that supports you as you age… or one that you’re constantly fighting against?

Because the reality is—those outcomes are not random.

They are built, meal by meal, choice by choice.

The Movement We Actually Need

Maybe what we need isn’t more influencers.

Maybe we need more leaders.

More people willing to say:

Real food matters

Where your food comes from matters

Your health is not a trend

And your body is worth nourishing, not just entertaining

What if we created a different kind of following?

One that isn’t based on aesthetics…

but on alignment.

One that values:

Food grown in real soil

Farmers who care about the land

Meals that fuel, not just fill

Long-term health over short-term clicks

A Quiet Revolution

This kind of change probably won’t go viral overnight.

It’s slower than that.

It looks like choosing a CSA box instead of convenience.

It looks like cooking at home.

It looks like learning, unlearning, and paying attention.

It looks like supporting local farms—even when it’s not the easiest option.

It looks like deciding that your health is worth more than whatever the algorithm is pushing today.

The Invitation

If you’re here, reading this, you’re already part of something different.

You’re someone who’s questioning.

Who’s paying attention.

Who’s open to doing things another way.

And that matters more than you think.

Because movements don’t start with millions of people.

They start with a few who are willing to see clearly… and choose differently.

This isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about being intentional.

And maybe—just maybe—that’s the kind of influence that actually changes lives.
