COMPANY

Explore the distinctive taste of Fisherville's Finest, where we nurture premium pink ginger sourced from The Canadian Ginger Company. Cultivated in our greenhouse, this tender variety boasts a delicate texture, ideal for pickling, candying, and beyond. Experience the culinary delight of our pink ginger today! Ginger, hailing from Southern Asia's rainforests, thrives in warm, humid climates, making our greenhouse the perfect environment for cultivation. Unlike the familiar mature ginger root, our greenhouse hosts a unique variety – the "pink" ginger. Named for its rosy, undeveloped leaves, this ginger offers a softer, less fibrous texture, eliminating the need for peeling in various culinary endeavors. Enjoy the versatility of this delicate ginger in pickling, candying, and more, as we invite you to savour its distinctive flavour profile.

FROM SEED ROOT TO HARVEST

Ginger grows from sprouted roots, pushing up annual leafy shoots that can reach heights of up to 10 meters in the right climate. At our greenhouse, we start our ginger and turmeric crops annually from organic seed roots sourced from overseas. Through years of refining our techniques, we've developed a proprietary root push process, giving our crops a head start each year. The process begins in late January, with roots eventually planted in the greenhouse by mid to late February. These visually stunning tropical crops grow uninterrupted for months until harvest season, which typically spans from early August to November. During this time, our products are available for online ordering and shipping across Canada.

HARNESSING THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF GINGER

Ginger boasts various health benefits, a fact I discovered firsthand during my own health journey. Utilizing ginger daily played a crucial role in reversing autoimmune disease and continues to be a staple in my diet. Whether grated as "ginger snow" for savoury dishes and baking or steeped in tea, its versatility knows no bounds. Notably, baby ginger offers even more health benefits than its mature counterpart. BEYOND THE ROOT: DISCOVERING GINGER'S FLORAL ESSENCE

Early on, we discovered that ginger's appeal extends beyond its root. The leaves carry their own delightful floral fragrance, inspiring us to explore new culinary uses. Fresh ginger leaves add flavor to rice dishes and make a delightful floral tea when steeped in hot water. In 2022, we introduced a new product: JUST GINGER herbal tea. Crafted from dehydrated baby ginger and ginger leaves, this aromatic blend offers a refreshing twist. We also offer a blend featuring dehydrated turmeric, available nationwide. Turmeric's harvest season begins in early September and extends to November.
